The last decade of baking, cooking, thinking, BBQ road tripping, and food writing were an absolute joy. But after much consideration, and a multitude of happy memories, I have decided to retire this website. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your time. I always remember that time is your most expensive ingredient, and you have given me a portion of yours, and for that I am forever grateful. I am still actively writing, but it is fiction. And I am still actively photographing lovely things, but they are more often wildflowers or cows or portraits than food. And I'm still cooking, I'm just keeping it in my own kitchen. What just happened?

Nothing has happened. We had a great time together. It was fun. We all put on a pound or two. I learned a ton. I hope you learned a thing or two. We raised some kids. We laughed. We cried. We celebrated. It was awesome. And I'm grateful. It's simply time for me to pay attention to other pursuits with a little more focus.

Where are all the recipes, Kelly???

Please tell me you printed your favorites along the way. I hope you got my last email and post about PIE going away. If you came here from the big wide internet, I apologize for the inconvenience. But if you didn't print your favorite AND you are related to me by blood, marriage or mutual admiration OR you have been a long time PIE person and just missed the memo but you only need a recipe or two, please do email me and I'll try to help you out. That is for my mom. She didn't want to kill a tree printing 400 recipes and she gave birth to me. I was ten pounds. She gets to stick around as long as she wants. Furthermore, half the posts are either about her, involve her recipes, or contain photos of her grandchildren. You are more than welcome to try to talk her out of her credentials, but she may make you donate to The Boys & Girls Clubs of Wichita Falls or extract some other price such as your commitment to bail her daughter out of jail should she be apprehended doing 110 in a 45 in your neck of the woods. These things happen. So if you are on her fighting side, or you are brave enough to ask her price, go for it. But that's between the two of you and I'm not getting involved. Finally, I reserve the right to pull the plug on the whole site at any moment anyway, so just know that going into your negotiations with her.
